Donnie Massengale

Donnie Massengale has over fifteen years of teaching experience and has learned under some of the games finest instructors. Donnie also has a wealth of playing experience as a two-time All-American, three-time All Conference player and MVP of the Sam Houston State University golf team. More recently, Donnie was selected to be a member of the Sam Houston State University “Hall of Honor”.
Donnie also played professionally for seven years after leaving Sam Houston State University. He won twice on the Texas Tour, as well as the 1991 Toyota Skins Game Pro-Am held at PGA West. He also played the Golden State Tour, the Jordan Tour and was a Ben Hogan Tour Member.

Donnie attributes most, if not all of what he has learned about teaching to his late father, Don Massengale and the late Harvey Penick. He also gained much of his knowledge while caddying for his dad on the Senior PGA Tour and getting to spend time with and talk to the legends of the game. Donnie has also had the privilege of learning from the late Dick Harmon, Chuck Cook, Mark Steinbauer, Cole Smith and his brother Mark Massengale.

Cole Smith

Cole Smith has been an instructor at the Massengale Golf Academy since July of 2003. In that time he has given thousands of lessons to both juniors and adults. Before coming to the Massengale Golf Academy, Cole was a Golf Professional at The Woodlands CC Palmer and Player courses as well as the TPC at The Woodlands. Cole was a 2001 and 2002 nominee for the Eastern Chapter Teacher of the Year award. Cole was featured in the May 24th, 2008 edition of Golfweek magazine with his long time student and LPGA Tour Member, Stacy Lewis. Cole has also been featured in numerous editions of Houston Links Magazine.
Cole has worked with many fine instructors, including the late Don Massengale, Jim McLean, Robert Singletary and Mark Massengale.

Brady Stapp

Brady Stapp has been an instructor with the Massengale Golf Academy since 2006. Brady graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University and worked in the golf business at several courses while in college. Brady also had a very successful Junior Golf and High School career while at Brenham High School. Brady has developed into a fine instructor with many pleased students along the way. He was a student of Donnie Massengale as a Junior Golfer. His teaching techniques emphasize creating practice habits that generate results. The practice with a purpose mentality gives his students swing keys that work.
